linearity of knowledge-the ancients, the greek physists, and the moors

We are taking a short break from finishing the Socrates dialog to discus the history behind the insights.  first a a quick note, the Greeks realized this linearity and there is a philosophers trail-still looking for an offer from a Greek... the Greek guide.  But the true trail isn't the walking triangle with Elea in it.  It is the birthplace of modern man which stretches from the the cold northern shores of China to the eastern borders of Europe and the northern shores of Africa, the larger triangle holding the smaller.
From the birth of modern man,to the amazing technical advances that allowed the Greek philosophers to see they too could see over mountains because of the giants who had built the pyramids and created language, paper, writing, mathematics, astronomy, ships, metallurgy, architecture,  horticulture and so much more and those who had the presence of mind and history to keep this history alive for us and me in particular.
Would it not be amazing if the descendants of these amazing people could learn to get along well enough so that we or perhaps our descendants could take it.
But no one has invented peace and inter society cooperation yet though the words for it exist.  And it is unlikely anyone will ever invent a word that encompasses the two together.  The sad reality is that many if not most of the advances of man result from competition and war is the perfection of the competitive art.  But what a great tour it would make and how i would like you to go on it with me.
