It is cold and crisp outside tonight
The water in the air almost frozen
The moon is half, but the curve shows
in three dimensions, large on the horizon
facing upward and open towards the sky
like a giant silver bowl
into which all the stars
are being poured
bright and brilliant
sun and planet scatered on the funnel of the sky
The galaxy showing
as only it can in the freezing air
pouring into the open moon
