plans, impediments and love

When things are at the darkest, it is important to act
when everything is stacked against, when there is no future
you need to make a plan even if you don't feel hope
And if you don't have a good alternative
you need to stick with the plan
and when its working you need to stick with the plan
this applies to financial problems
it applies to personal problems
maybe it even applies to love
that thing which tries to defy all plans
Sometimes you plan together
sometimes you plan apart
sometimes you have to choose what to do
when your conspirators appear to abandon you
but if you don't have another alternative
and it seems to be working
you should stick with the plan
and if someone throws an impediment
but they don't offer an alternative
it doesn't behoove you to abandon the plan
and sometimes you may have to change the plan
so that someone can join you in it
and sometimes you have to stick with the plan
and hope someone will see the wisdom in it
Napoleon said "Courage isn't having the strength to go it
it's going on when you don't have strength"
so if you don't agree with my plan
don't be surprised if I go on without you
but don't assume because i follow my own plan
that i am not mindful of the plans we have together.
