As has been written, time is the only "surface" of things outside of the singularity. Matter has no significance without time and in fact appears to disappear without it; that is it loses its dimension.
This raises the question of how does time yield dimension. There are several, not totally exclusionary options.
One is that there are at least 3 elements of time given to all matter and energy which we observe (note there is unobserved "dark matter/energy" and "anti matter/energy" which have previously been posited as either having extra "times" or not having enough "times" or even having "different times").
There is "cloud time" which may be the alternative or a fourth type of time, but for the moment we will concentrate on the theory that time is attached to each "quantum" of tendency (matter/energy) as it is projected from the hologram.
The question is whether time is spiky (i.e. it contains the elements necessary to display in 3 or 4 dimension) or if there are multiple times (one time for each dimension) or whether there is some other quality of time which gives dimensions to what we call "space time" but which is in reality just "time" without space. We know intuitively and by experimental evidence that space does not exist as such because of black holes which are separated by the apparent long distances of space but which all fall to a single singularity (at least in hologram theory as presented herein).
And yes, this means faster than light travel is not only possible but relatively easy to achieve but for more on that you'll have to look at the "challenge" entry which means its likely you'll have to figure that one out on your own. i.e. catch me if you can.
More on this later.
