a finite universe

Even if we knew the universe was infinite,
our time is finite
I did the things that were plain and clear
and i left you out of them
so you could make what you could of your time
so you could be happy without worrying
not that you would
and if your week was not perfect
you should know that mine was not
and could not be
unless you could vouch for it
if i suffered
it is only because
the only joy in this life
is having you in it
but over the longish weekend
if i was not happy
i worked
I wrote and thought
and answered questions
large and small
i swam 7500 yards
I lifted weights
I walked a long way
with the wind blowing hard
I watched the storms come and go
and I thought about the fact
that you are happiness
i want to scream
don't forget me
you should have your to have peace
and someone should enjoy life
if not me with you
then someone else
unless i can disrupt it with finality
i'll disrupt your life
i have not forgotten
and i have not stopped
even to having it
torn up and thrown in my face
knowing that in the end
everything,
even those that are not religious
requires a leap of faith
there might be contentment otherwise
but not love or passion
or laughing out loud
at the top of my voice
not caring who knows
because our universe is finite.

scientifically by aut standards this article is wrong.  while it does hold the universe to ultimately be flat, it fails to realize it is linear and then non-dimensional at last.   to the extent that you limit yourself, as does this article to the dimensional universe, it is still only linear in the end and worse still it is finite at any time, the mechanism for counting that continues our existence is not guaranteed and the euclidean geometry will continually cycle between compressed and increasingly round even in more dimensions than we can see and the attempt to re-achieve the illusive linearity.
