Algorithm Universe Theory. It will not have any of the depth of the books or my blog on the subject, but will, instead, be in the format of a press release.
Since my entire theory of AuT originates from an article discussing Hawkin's book on Hologram theory and trying to reconcile it with an idea by Einstein; this course on how to review science has been particularly appropriate. In fact, the lesson might be that it is as important to comment on science as is the science itself!
The idea was to submit this to the class for comment and this is submitted to you for the same purpose. Who knows what you comments might lead to!
Headline: The symmetry of everything
Start with the major findings. (The conclusion):
Supersymmetry is solved with some simple math equations and our view of the universe proves to be a mirror, the opposite of what we thought it was.
The large idea behind AuT: Beginning in 2013 a new theory of the universe evolved into an explanation of super-symetry. This theory is now know as Algorithm Universe Theory (or AuT) and is the subject of several books by...well me.
What is super-symmetry?

What is super-symmetry?
Supersymmetry is not a new idea. Unifiied field theory, for example, is a sub-set of super symmetry. A short definition is that supersymmetry is an underlying framework that eliminates unexpected variation. While entropy is eliminated by AuT super-symmetry, that was not considered a requirement, but the elimination of randomness was. Once randomness was eliminated, however, it became clear that thermodynamics had to go with it.
Next consider the implications. (Future work): What if everything you knew turned out to be false? This is a premises that dates back many centuries; the evolution of astronomy by Gallelio, Einstein's relativity and finally by the proof of super symmetry. In science the destruction of a foundational myth leads to a Rennaisance of science, but at what cost? Gallelio laid the foundation for the destruction of the religious purpose of man at the center of the universe, Einstein proved how small we were, AuT undermines the idea of faith in its entirety through the elimination of self-determination as anything other than illusion. It can be argued that each scientific advance dehumanizes us a little more even as it opens doors that illuminates our universe. But are these doors or are they nesting dolls where each one is another pandora's box?
Then the method/analysis. (Method and results): AuT makes some rather large claims, and the first idea you have to accept is that pre-AuT physics doesn't really know much. It makes a lot of assumptions, as does AuT in the final analysis. It throws out wild ideas, as wild as the view of one religion or another and asks, because the majority of scientists agree, that you accept these wild ideas despite their internal lack of logic. This also is not a new idea, 2500 years ago, Parminides realized that our view of reality was flawed and his student Zeno attempted to prove it. For whatever reason, before AuT, these foundational concepts were abandoned.
AuT revived this analysis, accepted nothing an came to the conclusion that space-time, the foundation of force, dimension, mass and events was an illusion, that force was a result, not a driving event, that dimension was a relativistic display of space and time independent information (Einstein's without time everything would happen at once after a fashion) and mass was the result of the compression of information states according to a relatively simple underlying mathematical framework.
Finally, the background. (The introduction):
Einstein showed that e=mc^2 but he didn't explain why. It was an observation of sorts. He proved that light was affected by gravity, but he could not explain what gravity was. He looked for a principle that would unify the various forces or fields and could not find one. Why not? The reason was because, having discovered space-time as an interlocking concept he could not abandon it. He knew the results of abandoning space time because he discussed them, but he continued to see them as foundational to the universe. Turns out they are not.
Einstein's work, indeed that of all physicists, is largely the work of applying equations to explain force. Indeed the idea of quarks and bozons is intimately tied to trying to define space-time phenomena in terms of solid pieces. Even information theory in physics is largely tied to the idea that information is carried by these pieces of matter within space-time.
What if we were to turn this around? If you hold physics up to a mirror what you see is equations yielding the features of space time.
The premise of AuT is that space time is generated by a non-dimensional, time independent algorithm. Aut does not completely explain the nature of the environment where this algorithm is generated, but it does provide a mathematical basis for everything we experience. The algorithm is described as a "single variable algorithm." That means that each time the variable changes (1,2,3,etc to infinity) all parts of the solution simultaneously change with the variable at the same rate. In order to achieve variation, the number of changes that occur together increases. What we experience, from a highly compressed informational change, results from the relative amount of compression between states.
The algorithm must allow for this type of compression and there is the suggestion that it should to some extent be self generating. It should also be refected in what we observe, not only in our observation of space-time but also in our study of quantum phenomena. It turns out that a mathematical model has been around for several hundred years, the Fibonnaci series. When combined with information theory and the idea of offsetting infinite series for compression that a model evolves which allows for an explanation of all phenomena we observe and road map to the phenomena we have not yet observed.
While a complete discussion is beyond the scope of a press release, a detailed study of this is covered in the published works of the author which include the soon to be released Book 3 of the Algorithm Universe Theory series. Books 1 and 2 are already in publication.
Coming soon book 3!
