you'd be right beside me
and so I wondered
where you are
since here you're not
love has deep roots
planted in words
of affection and kindness
and only watered
with the sweat of passion
Can love survive
without being watered
when uprooted, torn
from the calm winds
of quiet conversation
I thought one time
it could not survive
separation and options
other lovers and loves
but now I'm not so sure
when i remember you
and you being near me
naked and unafraid
it seems to me
that love survives
