This summer venus and saturn
circle each other like boxers
reminding me of us
separated by too great a distance
it is obvious who venus is
the goddess of love
who traps us in your false promise
but does that make me saturn
with too many obvious moons
taking away from my identity
as a planet, as a god
so that i am nothing more
than the body that holds the rings together
