The opt out deadline has passed subject to the approval of the class settlement which seems likely.
BP has pled guilty and has taken one more step towards ending the outstanding obligations associated with the deep horizon spill. Hopefully this will encourage them to deal quickly with the cases that remain outstanding for those who have claims.
It seems unlikely that criminal restitution will be a part of this settlement, although a plea typically does not include a limitation of punishment which is an area reserved to the judge.
