taking time

We all have a point of view
that shapes love and anger
our differences strengthen
and our differences kill us

Views without regard to time
Take the time and take a life
and play it like some tune
and don't reconcile our views

we waste our time
disregarding perspective
not of my side of things
but that of ours we shared

and so there's nothing left
to write about yours
and less to write to you
its not about your side

it's only what we wrote
that matters to us now
and what we failed to write
and what we haven't done

so we force our ideas
instead of compromises
because its what we want
or what we think we need

to give each other time
to weigh our decisions
but life is not too short
to take time for tears
