The Whale Lawyer Chapter 13

Perhaps the most said in the shortest chapter of the book.  Does this mean that each chapter will get shorter and shorter and say more and more?  That's a good premise, but just waiting for the answer is too suspensful.  This just happens to be a very short chapter.
Oddly, it is actually 14 (there was a 1 and a 1a if you recall) so if I ever get around to renumbering the chapters, the book will be 16 chapters, but its not.
The end is near!  But the end of what?
Have you thought of a potential ending yet?  What would you have happen.
Back to the Harry Potter analogy, what if Voldemort had fallen in love with Helena B. Carter only to find out she was married to a famous director and decided to just end his life by destroying all his own life rafts of the soul in a fit of heartbreak?  Wouldn't that have been better than the actual ending, which I'm not going to say in case someone doesn't know?
That reminds me of a funny "spoiler" story which I will relate.  There was a star trek movie where the character spock is killed. Doesn't matter, because despite his untimely death he ends up appearing in 5 or 10 subsequent movies as hale and fit as ever.  But the funny story is that a friend of mine who had seen it tells me "I guess you know spock gets it in the end."  The funny part of the story is that until he explained it, I thought he meant that spock got laid.
Ok, maybe not so funny.  And neither is this chapter...

Chapter 13
Laura walked into the apartment and set down her key. The case had been going on for some time now and so had her irregular visits. She wondered if she should move in or stop coming.
No one answered her knock, she wondered why not. She worried about Hyatt.
Hyatt was in the bedroom with Truly. They had met at the pool again earlier that night. He had suggested that after their swim she could come by and talk about the case.
She had agreed and had gotten into his car with just a sweat suit over the swimsuit.
He hadn’t even planned on getting her out of it, but a glass of wine and some soup and bread and he found himself in bed with her half way between falling asleep and wondering if he should try to gget her to go home. Truly was snuggled up against him, probably willing to go either way. Who the hell had just opened the door?
Laura found the small sweat suit on the couch, then the one piece bathing suit on the floor. “Son of a bitch,” she thought angrily.
